Vintage Faith:
Sermon Series

About
Memories, Passion, Love, and...Work? Some days are a grind, but other days I'm reminded that living out my purpose in the middle of my giftings fulfilling what has been my calling. These days are refreshing, exciting, and keep me going. Right before Christmas, I had the privilege of rolling up my sleeves and really digging into a new project - the artwork for our upcoming series at Gateway Church

I was reminded of family when I used the record player that my late mother-in-law gave me for Christmas. I felt the comfort of "Granny's House" when I used the Polaroid camera she gave me that she found at a garage sale.

I was flooded with Nostalgia when I grabbed my old ROB the Robot to feature in the series artwork. I thought about my childhood as I opened up a pack of crusty old polaroid film. I remembered the smell of those old cameras. I laughed thinking about the flash cartridges that my parents kept for our Polaroid camera and how I loved to waste the flashbulbs.

And I just really enjoyed creating with my computer and my hands as I designed a sticker and sleeve for a record. Slapping that "Vintage Faith" label on some old Goodwill records allowed me to make something physical. Something I could hold. Something that exists on more than a screen.

And it was in the comfort of our new home - and what sometimes feels like a new life - that I got to arrange these pieces of my past and present while thinking about the future. While I built scenes to photograph and video I reflected a little on my life. God has been so good to me. God continues to be so good to us.
